In the last few weeks I have been working with Jonas Family from Kimberly and the Greyling Family from Kempton. Both families have a young child who is high-functional fully autistic. Both children would occassionally say some random three word sentences. They were not making eye contact, had issues with eating and doctor's visits where a nightmare. They were flapping their hands. W Jonas and his sister would get sick easily and this would result in high fever with convulsions.
In South Africa the festive season is the time where criminals like to do their shopping without compensation. How can we be safe and how can we keep our possessions safe? Let me share with you, my miraculous story of what happened to me a few years ago. Since then I always feel safe, no matter where I am in the world.
One summer-night in November after watching the DVD ‘The Secret’ the fence-alarm went off at about 3 a.m. It wasn't raining, there was no wind and I couldn't reset the fence alarm, something was wrong. I waited for the armed response to arrive. When he checked the parameters of the garden, we could see how people had broken a section of our precast wall and entered the garden through the electric fence. They set off the alarm, because one of the fence wires had broken. The burglars were gone. Why did this happen to me?
First some doom and gloom
When I look at our current South African government policies, I cringe. They say they want to create prosperity for all, but in the mean time they violate every universal law there is to create prosperity. One of them is the law of fair exchange. Expropriation without compensation doesn't seem so fair to me. Another law is the law of cause and effect, also known as "What you sow is what you reap". Another way of saying the same thing is "What you do to others, you do to yourself too". This means that when you take wealth away from others, you will lose your wealth too. The politicians might argue that they are uplifting the poor by giving them land and more. But there is a huge difference between giving your own and giving other people's possessions away. And it is obvious, that if people with money and possessions don't feel that their belongings are safe, they are going to take them elsewhere. A huge de-investment will take place, which will lead to more poverty.
What is the Solution?
When you read that title you might be puzzled and wonder:
How is this possible?
How can I survive in this chaotic world without being positive?
I don’t want to be negative!
Are you fed up hearing about global warming, polluted oceans, human trafficking, drug lords and the other wrongs of the world?
Wouldn't it be great to have a beautiful planet without all of that?
Wouldn't it be great if we could just cut this out of our lives?
We all know this is not going to happen.
Then how can we use these negative people to clean-up our environment?
Is this really possible? Yes! Yes! Yes!
Are you worried about getting cancer?
Does cancer run in your family?
Do you or your loved-one have it already?
We know the importance of healthy eating, to reduce the chance of getting cancer.
What is equally important to is to watch what eats you!
What is eating you and how can you deal with those issues?
This Other-Wise article is also relevant if you have cancer already.
Do you have things in your life you dislike or even hate?
I do and from now on I am going to refuse doing those things. I am going to say NO.
But certain “jobs/tasks” need to be done.
How can we make sure the job still gets done?
The solution lies in understanding why we dislike those jobs. Then it becomes easier to find a great solution.
When negotiations are tough (in business or at home) we need to be optimally prepared. (If we can resolve conflicts amicably, we can prevent expensive legal costs.)
We prepare what we are going to say and we make sure we have the facts right.
Maybe we dress well, to make a good impression, or we do something else.
But have you ever prepared your VIBE for the negotiations?
How can we deal with idiots in power?
How can we actually use them to create the life we want?
We all come across idiots in power at some point in our lives. Some idiots abuse their leadership position to enrich themselves and their cronies. Others don’t know what they are doing, they are short sighted and/or they don’t care about us. We feel that these idiots are a hindrance, but the opposite is true. They actually hold the key to our success and happiness!
